About my design

by Typhoon Samurai
I recently read the white collar class is quickly becoming the new blue collar. Coincidentally, I think of "Carl" as the name of the archetypal water cooler guy (from That 70s' Show, probably). Combining these two ideas led me to drawing Marx in an office setting on a blue shirt.

Thanks for reading, and please comment & vote!

I agree, nice illustration. I'm not sure if the average random person would understand the concept though

thanks guys! Regardless, it could just be a picture of Marx in the office.

Yeah i don't really get it. it could also be myopic Santa Claus in the office.

yeah some Communist references on the bulletin board would help lots

sigh, I'll see how the design scores to see if the idea is salvageable.

I don't think its too subtle. He has a star tattoo next to the post it that says party plus the red pencil.... I mean, theres the communist reference right there not to mention the other post its: 1917-Russian Revolution, Engels- reference to Freidrich Engels. I'm not into communism, but as a student of history I can appreciate this work.

it's nice but i think you subbed this a bit early in the development process. when you resub it'll be pretty sweet.

Yeah the unicorn/ink blot/rainbow crowd won't dig this, but I think it's brilliant. You got my first 5 of the day. Nice illustration!

Personally, I would rather this as a print on my wall - but either way, it's great.

I really quite like this, and I like the subtlety too.

The Santa connotation is a bit unfortunate though - maybe it is his clothes that push him just over the edge, into Santa territory? I'd imagine Santa would wear big fat braces like that underneath his coat.
