Tehphex - Why not post something constructive -or at least post some of your work?

Calm down and deal with the fact that you'll end up with some unconstructive comments. As a design, the heart seems too round and incongruous with the rest, and like everyone has said, this is a totally hackneyed idea.

Everything about it seems cheap, which is not the idea that I want to give off when wearing a shirt. It just resembles something that can be bought at a Kmart.

this doesn't even seem like the kind of shirt that hot topic would sell. more like one of those Old Glory catalogs. It's just tired and brings nothing new. Doesn't seem at all like a shirt worthy of Threadless. sorry.

like another poster said: the heart doesn't match the rest of the design. it would be better with a sketchy, hand drawn heart. i think it's funny though!

I THINK THE SAYING WOULD SELL !

I think the idea is trite and overdone. The design is simple and lacks inspiration. I wouldn't buy it.

Agreed with SlicKitty. This is not at the level of art I would expect from a Threadless shirt.

I would only wear this shirt if I was being executed...
you can do better than this man...

I was not aware this was an elitist, high-brow site

My deepest apologies.

I will only submit choppers, scribble line monsters and flamingos.

SlicKitty on Sep 14 '04
Make no mistake, I love the lowbrow, but there's a difference between lowbrow and this. Nail that difference, and you can make something. Look to Big Daddy Roth for true lowbrow inspiration. There's not an elitist bone in my body, and if you can't handle criticism, don't go into Art.

For the record, I don't like the chopper one, either.

Slickitty- I'll pass on the lowbrow advice.

it's not a bout handling criticism, it's about showing respect to fellow designers. I think many artists here are given free passes as the work IMO, leaves much to be desired. I could not bring myself to post words like "sucks", "terrible" etc.
I just move along.

I'm learning the game. Some here create log in names to bash work. The most fierce posts are from day old members or those with no posted work.

I thought this site would be above peer review politics, I was wrong.

I'm a day old member, with a friend who has designed a shirt here. I don't design shirts, but I do wear them, and I am an Artist, and an Actress. If you think I've never been criticized, think again. You have to take it in stride. Opinions are just opinions. Some people will like your work, some won't, but when you put it out there, you have to be prepared for that. It's how you learn, and how you grow. If you shut it out, you won't learn, nor will you grow. Pass on the advice if you so choose, but it was given out of respect, as was the criticism.

i agree with a few people, if you make the heart hand sketched looking -- it'd definately buy it :]

if i had a choice between this shirt and a shirt made from poison bees and used hypodermic needles- i'd take the needle bee shirt.

It's a little too "I bought this at Spencer's Gifts in the mall" for me.
but now if the design was a little more ADD and well drawn/designed/whatever, then it could be a good shirt.
