Yeah, I think this could be an incredibly solid piece if the hippo didn't look a little leper-esque. Def. worth fixing up
Maybe even adding some subtle accoutrement, like a salt/pepper shaker to the side, or a small handful of herbage? I don't think it's necessary, but it might add a little color if you have colors left. |

I was going for a rough and uneven look, like he was out hunting and fighting for those marbles during the day (like in the game). but considering the comments here I think I overdid it a little ;) But I'll keep working on this later.

you should reference the game a little more clearly, like with some hippos waiting to eat the marbles, also it's not immediately clear that those are marbles, and that hippo looks gross, but why?

Try to make his eyes stand out more. I first saw his nostrils as his eyes. And the marbles should be more uniform (some look like eggs). Why don't you smooth his skin, and use the colors that are shown in the game to make a more direct connection with the game?
