I dig the idea of the different patterns but I'd like it better if the patterns worked together to make the features on the polar bear visible. To me, the patterns are just blotches on the bear.

I like the pattern treatment on the bear, but the shirt is less interesting when it's farther away. maybe try a different composition? I don't think you need the leaves, try bringing the bear higher up...
