It's quite similar.. There are so many people using this simple style, but I'm not knocking it.. I like it. If anything, yours is less - (what's the word?) demented than Ian Stevensons work. David Shrigley style was popular for a while. Now it's Ian Stevenson. |

ginetteginette on Nov 10 '09 man, that magpie-king guy doesn't know what he's talking about. you can point to any illustrator doing cartoony stuff and say 'oh that looks like so and so!'. half the time the only similarity is that both artists are influenced by cartoons. i especially like that he calls you unoriginal but still gives you a five! haha!

ginetteginette on Nov 10 '09 it's just very insulting. i think there's a difference between saying 'this reminds me of this' and then saying the same thing and ending it with 'this isn't original because of my previous statement'.
apart from both artists using simple linework and cartoon influences there is not that much resemblance and certainly no copying. i think sometimes when people make these statements they really just aren't taking enough time to really examine the art. if you really looked at both these artists' bodies of work then you would see that both these guys definitely have their own things going on. ps. no ill will, i just needed to speak my mind about this matter because i've seen a lot of people make this error. |

I really don't see how the styles are similar. That's like saying Disney and Looney Toons are unoriginal because they're cartoons, like the other.
