first submission... what sparked this idea was how people put so much value into the tastes and opinions of others. the colors could have stood for a lot of different things—i think it's open to interpretation.

i think it looks nice, although it seems like the dotted outline is the tongue and the solid is the mouth so why would there be color going on the mouth? anyways i like it, 4.

artchimp on Jul 28 '04 "money creates taste" is a truism by Jenny Holzer... i agree that it doesn't create it, but it does influence and retard it a great deal. i included it in the layout because it was one of the first things that came to my mind during the ideation process.

i tried to put a lot of thought into the design as a whole, so i have an explanation (or is it an excuse?) for everything. i purposely used different typefaces and concepts to convey a sense of convergence, to illustrate how a combination of different tastes and influences make up an individual's unique personal style. my own tastes are pretty ecclectic, and i tried to bring that through as well. |

it really only looks good in black, but the message is so true. the slobber adds an awesome edge.

i don't taste music on that part of my tongue. i try really hard not to taste my friends at all with my tongue. i dedicate more of my tongue to tasting my lover than is shown in this diagram. lover and liquor.
holzer may have something to say about this. interesting though. |
