by taking such a straightedge stance, you are alienating a lot of potential consumers... but that might be your end goal.

i'm going to guess that you're referencing straight edge here. this is pretty weak. i'm not going to preach about sXe, but this design lacks any real dynamic elements that would be indicative of that movement.

In my experience, there's this funny phenomenon where people who talk about their diets tend to go off them the most often and most thoroughly. Same thing with straight-edgers. The Philosophy Club Journal at my university this year is using a picture of a Campus Crusade For Christ straight-edger passed out on the floor with a beer-can in his hand for our cover. It's great.
