I thought that for this competition it would be really fun to collab with a real live kid from within the Threadless community. I had users submit their kids' work to me and I went through and chose what I thought would be a fun base for a design.

I loved Piper's artwork (Kim456's daughter) and thought that this boggle-eyed monster would be a pleasure to work with. I used her original artwork - I didn't redraw it, just livetraced the scan and then created the rest of the design around her monster concept.

This is such a great idea, how better to illustrate childhood than with an authentic childrens drawing. I have to say that I like both aspects of each drawing. Great job you two and good luck! 5$

The best collab I've ever seen! What a wonderful idea in so many ways, way to get the utmost child drawing realism by collabing with an actual child! I really don't think the UV is needed and detracts from the impact of seeing both at once at all times, still such a stellar idea and process, well done lady and gent!

Yay it's up!! This was so much fun, Piper has really enjoyed collabing with you! You did an awesome job with the design I love the grown up slug!

Oh, and I agree that it doesn't need to be UV ink. I mean it's cool as is, but it would be just as cool with a straight up design.

This is definitely a 5, but I agree that it would be even better as a straight design instead of using uv.
