This is open to interpretation, but I was inspired by the idea of daylight invading one's slumber. To take it further--reality invading one's trance, being plagued or weighted down by things, etc.

It's a six color design intended for AA Asphalt. The gradients are small halftones.

Sitting up from laying? Then why is the headboard right behind her? And why aren't the curtains bunched at the top if they're pulled to the right? Or was she too cheap to buy the right sized curtains?

It coulda been a 5$ from me if those awkward mistakes weren't made.

communicates the idea perfectly! cool effect with the daylight bursting in.

great idea, but she needs to be pulling the pillow over her head and the hands have to be uv ray detecting (they show up in sun light) resubmit it like that and it'll be a 5! LOVE the hands, tho!

Really nice treatment to the idea of the morning slap in the face that the sunshine is to some people. I agree about the curtains needing to be a bit bunched up and when viewing the design from further away the daylight seems a bit awkward being the border of the tee. A little bit of reworking (maybe with the girl's face buried in the pillow like someone suggested or just peeking out of the window and slightly pulling the curtain back) would really improve this one.

I think it's a brilliant concept but i the girl's face feels a bit off to me (maybe to hard lines/ sitting up too straight?), and i agree that the curtains need some bunching. I really like to daylight arms pulling away the curtain though. This is a really lovely idea and it's *almost* done.... but I think it needs just a little extra work to bring it up to print standard.

I love the texture on the curtains, and how you got them to look semitransparent on top of that.

I work nights and totally love this shirt. I agree that the girl isn't quite right, if the light is "invading" I am shielding from it with hands, pillow, blanket.....I'm curled up peeking at the light not sitting up staring at it...just my 2 cents but love the work, good luck!

Pretty cool, but I totally agree on doing a little more work on the girl and on the curtains. It's a really good concept, and with a little more work I can see it scoring quite well and having a good chance of printing!

Good feedback here. Hmmm, to be honest, I really didn't think the logistics of the curtain really mattered. They could just be shifted to the right perhaps.

I think the problem I'm having with the girl is that I'm expressing something too personal instead of expressing something everyone can relate to. I was using the idea of being woken up in the morning to try to symbolize being interrupted from a state of mind. Therefore I didn't want her too animated--i.e. shielding herself with a pillow, pulling covers over her head, etc.

I don't find it too unbelievable that she would be sitting up against the headboard. She could have woken up before dawn and just wanted to sit there quietly deep in thought. A pillow behind her perhaps would be more realistic, but personally I think it's more flattering on her to be straight up. Again, this is my personal taste, and again that's probably my folly.

All that said though, I appreciate the feedback and the different perspectives.

I'd spread out the lighting around the curtain crack but otherwise love it.

This isn't your best design... but it still kicks copious amounts of ass and I'd absolutely love to wear it. How your designs are routinely underscored baffles me. Good luck with this one.

I think it's a great concept but to convey it a little better she needs to have her hands up trying to block the sunlight from hitting her face. That would help to show that the sunlight is invading here sleep or her comfort.

I love the way that one of the ghost hands is actually holding on to the curtain. Cool. And I don't care about all the picky little bits about curtain size and girl posture--this is a stylized drawing; it's not meant to be photographic! So it's gorgeous the way it is!

And I actually really dig how she's sitting; she looks very meditative and caught between two worlds to me. Gorgeous!

This comment makes all the frustration I went through drawing this worth it.

I may have watched too much X-Files, because to me this clearly shows some kind of alien abduction (or worse) about to commence. (Being woken by sunlight isn't a familiar concept for us up-at-the-crack-of-noon types)
