Leftist Jesuit on Jul 13 '04 I love how the text is done. The color combo with the natural t is probably my favorite. Don't know if you can really get away with tracing that photo tho. I think this would be really cool if the black were changed to some other dark color such as burgundy.

kansasliberal it is actually a contour line drawing from observation, then vectorised. I don't trace. Yes the pic is from the terry richardson site who I respect, but for versatility I thought I would try out what most people do on threadless, turning photos that are not there own into illustrations. I am not bitter though, just trying out a popular style.

just be careuful about giving credit where credit is due.
just cause other people use the crutch of non-unique drawings doesn't mean you have to. it is not being versatile if you're doing whate everone else does on threadless. keep in mind i still gave you a favorable comment. just be aware of copyright laws if you wanna continue lifting from other artists. |

I have a series of this shirt with her in the center, top right, top left, no words, 2 colors, smaller, etc. But you cannot submit the same artwork twice in this competition. (kiwi damo, Leftist Jesuit.)

kansasliberal, I respected your favorable comment as much as your creative criticism. I am just trying out this style to see what it is about, because I take my own photograph and do my own illustrations and I know the copyright laws. If 70%-80% of the orginal image is changed then it is considered up for grabs and most people on threadless have not broken that rule so there shirts get printed. I can link tons of peoples easy fix artwork to websites. But don't worry this is the first and last time I try this.

great text. "kiss" mark is a little cheesy.. maybe change its color to white, black or sunglass-orange.
