Lol you're so lucky you wrote snow man on Obama. I think you need to resub this swapping the snowman from obama to another president. You're gonna catch flak because no1 wants to wear a shirt that can be construed as racist at first glance. Did this go through critiques?

i agree with csimpson8, but also... it's a play on words... so yeah... don't know if some will be able to put that together.... you could get jumped. But still GREAT!!! I really like this alot! Nice idea!!!

The snowman looks more like an ape than a snowman. That's why it looks racist at first glance.

If you catch anyone giving you crap because of it being "racist", that person should be slapped immediately. If they're checking out your shirt enough to be offended by it they should be able to read it. I'm half black and found it hilarious.

I think finding this racist is a bit silly.
That said, I think I'd like this better if it was all older presidents. Obama kills this for me, not for political reasons, but for overdone-on-tshirts reasons. Also, I guess having a really recent president next to freakin' Taft makes no logical sense to the ol' eyes |

To elaborate: When people look at your shirt they see a glance of the general idea, then even if focusing aren't going to absorb the details.
The text in this drawing with the plays on presidential names is so illegible due to the fact that it's the same color as the rest of the doodle and is small as hell that picking up on that humor will be lost. The only humor most viewers will get out of this shirt without pressing their eyes to your chest will be that someone made presidents look like creatures... and the black one look like an ape :P |

Yeah, got to admit I didn't get the "abominable snowman" thing until I read the comments (since the print was extremely small on my monitor). Anyone seeing this from far away will probably have the same reaction I did, which was "omg did s/he draw Obama as an ape/gorilla???". I agree it really isn't racist, but could certainly be perceived as such.

Enough people have mistaken that to make it a problem. I could increase the size of the monster name text and add a snowy background to the Obama graffiti (and add a bat to Taft's graffiti to balance that) to help clarify the concept. Why did no one bring this up during the 9-version crit process!?!

Lol. Ya the biggest problem is the text is 100% illegible. It needs to be some combination of A) larger and B) a different color than the normal spraypaint.

I know it must be frustrating getting the flack that people think it might come across as racist. I personally don't think it is cause I get the joke but if you want to change it but still keep the joke maybe you could give him a snowman bottom? two balls of snow. I know that's not actually what the term refers to but it will quell the immediate reaction "ape bottom?! Racist"

I'm really impressed by this shirt, but I was a bit put off by what everyone was saying. I'd love to see this resubmitted with the bodies shifted - perhaps switch Teddy & Barack's bodies. Other than that, I think this is great.
