bush like the band, or bush like your mom?
otherwise creative

it's certainly clever, and well designed, the fire is cool, and the bush face in the bush is good. although i can't quite tell right away it's bush, it took me a second to realize it was a burning bush.

cool design, yet not so easy to recognize Bush

I think it would be better if it wasnt bush.

Very good. I like it a lot. The addition to it possibly being religion-based? That would make it even better in my opinion. Either way, it has potential.

I love it. Very clever. I'd wear it proudly!

i think the face in the bush is really neat, but i dont like the religious references in it
is the face actually meant to be someone?

I'd buy this if it were not Bush... It is a great design... I don't support Bush and will move to Canada if he wins but I would like to wear this past Nov. when he looses... After that I don't want to remember the guy.

hi everyone, thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it...
there's actually two options for this design, one with fire and one without, just rollover the lower right corner area to see the options...

Are you praising Bush or condemning him? Righteous or Evil? cos God appeared as a burning bush.

Nasty! I think this time round there's more elaboration in the comments given. I believe now the commentators realise what it means when you criticise someone's design, eh? Most of 'em are a little bit more constructive now:) I personally think it's a clever design - it's not easy to construct a famous face with just twigs & branches but you've done it! Besides that, a more important point to consider, the burning effect has a strong meaning behind it. Both designs are good - 'Bush Under Fire' and 'The Burnt Out Bush' ;p

Thanks for your keen observation on the 'possibly religous' point of views on the design, guys..
It's really up to the viewer to interprete and to decide whether it's negative or positive or what it looks like etc... just like how people choose to view the man himself. Jinchster's closing comments are spot on possibilities.. it could very well be a burnt out plant if you choose..
Thanks for your feedback guys, keep em coming...appreciate it!

I really like what you've done with this design. It's very clever and interesting.
I'd rather the subject not be Bush, but it's really ambiguous enough to not ruin the design.

Really nice work here.

This is a cool design but it does not look very much like the face of Bush. It is like the burning bush in Egypt in the Bible but it does not look very much like the face of George W. Bush. It should look more like him.

* do remember to try and rollover the lower right corner area to see a variation of this design without the flame... (the buttons i placed there were white in colour so they're not visible on the current background...

Smerk on Jul 08 '04
I like it with the flames better. A definite 5, but i think u shoud add a slight horizon / ground line where the bush/ tree meets the ground. Nice!

threadless has no agenda, with that in mind political shirts are free game and welcomed by those who want to wear something with a message. further, if people can't tell it's bush than people can't tell if it's a political shirt and it's still well drawn. 5.

Err.. when God appeared in the burning bush, it was to tell Moses to liberate the Israelites from Egyptian imposed slavery. The comparison, then, is that Bush, like Yahweh, is a liberator and, well, omniscient. It's a pro-Bush shirt for Bible-readers, meaning that this shirt would do well on the Christian rock circuit. For those who don't know the story, it could just be Bush's face on fire, which is "t eh r0xx0r" but as illiterate as the speech used to describe it. It makes me think that, were this shirt printed, an ardent Christian and a cheeky adolescent would both buy the shirt, see each other on the street, and knowingly smile at each other for reasons completely at odds unbeknownst to either wearer.

jmprockstar summed it up perfectly. And I feel kind of evil about it, but that's my favorite part of the shirt. It means two entirely separate things, both of which completely contradict each other.

And the design's amazing.

is that brando? wait.. this shirt sort of sucks.. All the coments you would get on it(on the street) oh, cool, it's a face...

I'm split on this. I am republican, so I do not like the anti-Bush stance of the shirt, however, I love the design. Also, I like the fact that this couldbe a religious shirt, one that's finally done well and looks good. Make it not Bush and I'd buy.

oi. a bit too controversial for the likes of a catholic girlie like me, but i DO like the design and the cleverness of it all. i can tell you put thought and time to this. it's just a bit...wrong..for me to wear, no matter if it's a joke or not. but i do have plenty of aetheist friends who would probably LOVE this shirt! :D
