About my design

by greenttentacle
"Quilted" is my second Preloved Entry.

This piece is inspired heirloom quilts; making a treasured item and handing it down through the generations. The quilt itself is a bit boring, so i tried to mix the idea of a 'quilted' landscape into the idea and came up with this.

Hope you like it!

Thanks :)

I was told by my flatmate that he wanted the quilt to cover the whole tee... damn it- might have been better, but ah- live and learn!

Thanks for your kind words. Let's see how this one does.... and if you haven't already, sail over to Flight of Fancy, my other sub to post your vote!

meant to say....the thumbnail looks just like the view from up the back of the farm I grew up on! Love patchwork plains, is my favourite place in the world to spend time!

Nice perspective, good color choices and nice texture work, but there seems like a really awesome concept behind the quilting that is waiting to come out of this one. As is, it's a solid pre-loved entry, but with a bit more work I feel this can be something special. Maybe we can work on something together if this design doesn't get printed, but i hope it does!

Nah, not the whole tee. It's good like this. It would be too repetitive over the whole tee, and having breaks makes it compositionally more interesting.

It might help to make it feel more like a landscape in structure (i.e. suggestions of hill shapes etc.), but obviously keeping all of the elements to do with quilting, as you have.

Working with Frick is a good idea. I'm sure he'll take it to the next level. Maybe set it in space. Or innerspace.

i love the idea but i think the perspective is distant :c

when i think of handed down quilts, i want them to be wrapped around me :)

i wish the quilt wrapped around the bottom of the shirt!

i agree with your mate, quilt the whole shirt...

make the squares bigger so there are less of them and make sure each square is different (maybe even sneak some hidden messages in there) then it would look like a shirt made from other materials...pre-loved!
