What about using a the recycling symbol on the bin, rather than the text? (unless I'm mis-reading the meaning of the image - that the monster is ultimately less monstrous for being green-conscious)

I like it, but I think it might get the message across better if you made it a recycling bin full of bottles and the monster recycling a can. Then you could just put the green recycle logo on the trash bin.
