I'd just like to point out- this is the first time I've done this, so the image isn't all sexified like some people manage to make theirs. Please don't hold this against me, I'm just better with a pen and paper than I am with code and all of that.

Mizsharpie- it started out A2, which meant that I could do the linework then really thicken it up and get it looking nice and bold- takes away any worries about twitches! Thanks guys, it's great to hear from other people and get some proper feedback. |

Oh, if anyone has any ideas for heads that you think would work, do say. I've been doing them on post-it notes for ages now, so I do occasionally run out of ideas for new ones (for instance, the one I did a few days ago was Vulcan...) I have lots of darker ones too (darker subject matter on the heads, I mean) so if people think that might work better, do say!

quister on Jun 14 '09 Very unique style, love the variety of line work against the negative spaces, very interesting. I'd usually stop there, but since you asked, maybe the subject matter isn't quite right for this audience. "Vulcan" and "darker subject matters" sounds good or even lighter subject matters might appeal more. I think this "Marie Antoinette" type is not as likely to engage the viewers here as much as those would. Anyway, love your style and the drawing, keep subbing. Cheers!

Thanks so much for all your comments, everyone. I've just finished the line work for the next one, so that's going to be scanned. It's a little darker in terms of subject matter, perhaps that's a good thing!

Montezeri- it's a reference to women of the period wearing red ribbons around their neck to simulate the blood of the guillotine. I quite like how it's turned out too, almost as if the image is all about it, which it might be (I can never decide!) |
