HA HE HAS THE GLASSES

except...
emo kids are really touchy about being called "emo" so they wouldn't wear it. they're all like "IM NOT EMO"
and theres no hair in the face. *thats key*

Rule of thumb: You wear something with 'emo' on it... you're not

"I'm not emo!"

why the fuck would he want to change it to "emu"? That doesn't make any sense.

Easy there killer. Ok, can I just take a moment and say that what passes for a critique on this site is really pretty lame. In the 11 comments left thus far, almost noone has managed to write anything approaching a well reasoned critique. No one has given me any useful criticism of the design, really, and no one has quite explained any of their feelings on it conceptually. The whole idea of a critiique IS to explain why you feel the way you do, otherwise it's practically useless to the artists. So, if you're gonna write something, please take the extra minute and a half to elaborate on what you mean. If you hate it, tell me why. If you love it, tell me why.

Also, for anyone who's not clear, this isn't supposed to be a serious shirt by any means. I'm not trying to promote emo or to bash it (ok, so it may contain a little friendly mockery). It's really entirely based around the idea that an emo-ish looking cherub would be kinda funny. So just cool your jets people.

I think the concept is good. The imagery all ties together fairly well. You could probably lose the "emo love" or at least rethink the font choice. Also the heart in the back seems to be a little awkward, you need to smooth the shape up a bit. That aside, I like the colors set atop the dark gray shirt. The placement is good too, but may need to come down about an inch so to not interfere with the sleeve and armpit region when it is printed (if it is printed). The faux-hawk and the shades are great. Altogether the design is good, it just needs a few adjustments. The font really does need work though, it doesn't quite work with the design right now, maybe smaller, maybe different, but definately, at the very least, needs to be kerned better. Good job.

great design, not too sure about the type and i have no idea what "emo" is. i really like the way the caracter is defined by using just the dark colour. choosing which areas to define and not is often quite hard. i like the "dualistic" heart: descriptive vs. semiotic/iconic.

Leftist Jesuit, not everything is suppose to be criticism, mostly you would find sparse comments and dense statements.

For example, i can say: "i hate the color," "zero!," or "wow i wouldnt wear this" without giving details on my reasons or any useful advice. Sometimes, it's a shame but what are you going to do (moan?)

Not everyone got the irony in your design and not everyone cares to get it, so don't be bitching or jumping at people just because they left little comments instead of - getting EXACTLY what you meant and criticizing on it. I think people have the right to say what they feel and vote how they want (within limitations of couse.) Since they're the ones buying the potential design?
\
Anyway, still you insist on everyone being critics, heres my take: The font needs to be worked on, it looks too standard with the design, the positioning could be lower and alittle more towards the center, I like the colors but i'm alittle impartial (maybe give a few choices?), I find the design to be alttile big and the second heart maybe can be outlined? Other than that, it's a solid design.

interesting idea, though I'm not crazy about the "emo love" part... even if it's suppose to be a fun mockery of emo kids. What could make that message clear without text is making those glasses black...though that darker shade of pink might make it slightly hard to see it.

callmeMooCow, I'm sorry that you seem to have taken offence to my "bitiching." I was not trying to chastise anyone inparticular. I was simply trying to point out that the comments section on this site is really not being taken adavantage of, to the detrement of everyone submitting t-shirts. And I guess it worked because after that post people have left much more interesting and helpful comments.

Of course everyone has the right to say what they want (as long as it's constructive and respectul, as the note below the Leave A Comment bar says) but I guess I just don't see the point of leaving a comment at all if you're not going to make some attempt to explain yourself. Why not simply vote and be done with it? And if everyone tries a little bit harder to give real crits, then everyone benefits. It doesn't really take that long and the people submitting get useful feedback while the people critting get practice at analyzing designs (analyzing someone else's work tends to help you judge your own a little better too).

That said, I'd like to thank everyone who did take the time to leave more elaborate comments (keep doing it with every design you crit!) and, again, I didn't mean to offend anyone so I'm sorry if I did.

that's rediculously gay.if you are truly emo,you wouldn't be caught dead in that shirt.everybody thinks that emo is about slitting your wrists and death, but really, it's all about the music.
so to people, they would wear this to either mock or to try and "label" themselves emo just because they have a shirt that says it.anyone can buy a shirt saying "i'm an emo kid",but only very few people can find good music, like it, and act different from everybody else.that's an emo kid.and whats up w/ his hair???it should be three times longer than that, and it should be parted to the side instead of gelled up.
other than that, it's an ok shirt.
