About my design

by stackemtotheheavens
For this one, I wanted a very simple design to convey a very powerful message. I also wanted to something that gets across the theme of Earth Day in an original way. It has very few printing requirements, and I think it would look awesome on a tee.

If the bird is supposed to be holding the plastic, you might want to do a little more there- perhaps cut the line of the ring so that it looks like it's going through his beak, rather than looping over it. And perhaps I'm being overly literal, but that's a blue heron, which would mean that the cans that came out of the holder were at least 6 inches in diameter. It's a nice idea, I think it just might have needed a little more time...

Too political for Threadless. And the plastic seems cut and pasted over the bird in a sloppy way.

Splendid 6-color trace!

Is the bird just carrying the rings? Isn't the danger supposed to be if it gets caught round the throat or something? It barely even looks like it's in the beak.

Don't take this the wrong way, but learning to use Illustrator and trace your own lines might be harder at first, but in the long run it's much more satisfying and creates far better results. It's worth putting in the time to learn since it's good fun and helps you make much more stylised illustrations.

Like some other guys said, you've just live traced two images and that's going to get a lot of negative comments somewhere like here, so maybe mess about with doing your tracing manually next time and see how it comes out?

Good luck! :)
