but if they never land, then how does it work? the laws are about landing, not being facing towards the ground while in the air. I think you need to incorporate a landing pad of some sort...

An old joke about an ingenious invention. For those of you who are not familiar with the concept, the toast cat works following two universal laws,
-Buttered toast always land butter down
-Cats always land on their feet
Thus when connected there is a perpetual battle to be the right way up to fulfill each law.
With initial momentum (a simple push), this force could be harnessed to solve the energy crisis our poor planet is facing. No more carbon emissions!
Or maybe we should stop waiting for some fantastical technology to save us from our mess and just do what we can here and now?
