 There are 41 known species of felids (cats) in the world today, which have all descended from the same ancestor. Biologists have had a difficult time establishing a family tree of cats from the fossil record because the fossils of different cat species all look very much alike, differing primarily in size. I thought I'd put them all together on one cat tree. Thanks for looking!
