The title speaks for itself, however if a great ape hugged me in real life I'd probably faint. Screen printed heart and belt printed ape, also works as monochromatic design if other colors are not allowed for belt printing. Lemme know what you think! Bananas!

the demographic here is diverse, inconsistent, mutable and not unwilling to vote for an unprecedented design style if its executed superbly, so there's only so much virtue in trying to conform to the present catalog.



at the same time, there are some things that simply won't print here--one of them being a design with an obvious heart shape over the heart. the general concept of this design, though, is not itself unprintable. yet, while i don't want to make hasty generalizations about colored-pencil illustrations as tee-shirt designs, i don't think the colored-pencil style/texture of this design in particular would be viewed as preferable on a t-shirt to those whom would otherwise vote highly for the concept. so there is at least some virtue to looking at precedent.



then, of course, there's the fact that the ape would look like it was coming out of your pants! haha

i think since theres the whole printing issue.. it would be cute if you had the monkey up to where it looks like the ape is hanging on the shoulders and then have the whole body of the ape so it doesnt look like hes coming out of your pants...lol =]

The position of the monkey is all right like this, it's very very lovely. Watching this and desperatly waiting for the tee.
