it's decent, nice use of "text shadowing" however I don't think it's too original. i've seen plenty of t-shirts that use text to fill out an object. but, originality isn't everything. i'll 3 it

1) its someone else's already-popular art.

--------photographers are artists, too. and its a freaking ALBUM COVER. everyone knows it. ITS NOT YOURS.

2) you didnt do that ascii work, a program did it for you. you can tell when people do things ORIGINAL, and this is NOT.

= NOT YOURS. NOT ORIGINAL. WONT GET PRINTED. 0.

http://www.threadless.com/product/113.htm

this artist took the things, made them different from what they already were, and placed them next to other things that normally wouldnt be there. it is a composition that took thought, effort, and actually *has* design in it. its not *completely* original (as in, they didnt create each element from their head, yes they had many references) -- but the final product is so different and amazing, that *the final product* is something that people *most likely* would not have been able to picture themselves.

this kid, here, this little joker, stole the album cover image (that has a copyright), put it in an ASCII program, and let someone else do the work. (the artist/designer/techinician ---WITH BRAINS -- that made the program, had to be original and had to put forth effort.) it took *this kid* no more than 2 minutes to steal something, plug it in, and submit it as *ooh-la-la,-its-now-my-piece-of-work....-yeah-right*.... theres no composition, theres no design, theres no juxtiposition with other elements -- basically, there is no effort or work or originality in it.

im not impressed or amazed by unoriginal things, thats all.

Well, i feel like most people here, using a copyrighted, superfamous picture that just about everyone above the age of 14 recognizes is pretty.. dumb.

BUT instead of using someones bitmap->ASCII tool this little baby could've been built up by famous Nirvana lyrics or something. Then it'd have a meaning. I guess.

there is a copyright on Nirvana lyrics too !!
