Maybe if the black were a shade of grey? It seems like it'd mesh better and be more easy on the eyes.

space helmet threw me off a little, like it was a rope at first. Agree with the stark black, maybe if the horse and cowboy had a little dimension through simple shading and greys.

Thanks people. Yeah, I'm kind of with you cummins. I'd really rather just have the cowboy on the seahorse too now that I'm looking at it. But people on this site NEVER vote well for things that are clean and simple unfortunately. That's why I added the herding fish.

maybe place the cowboy amongst a desolate view of the ocean floor, to sort of play up the mythology of cowboys being these solitary guardians in the wild west.

i like it, but i don't like the placement, it'd be better higher, without the fish around... and you're right unfortunately most people don't vote for simple designs. but i do! ;-)
