i love it. but the point that it's sally and peter doesn't really get across, you just get sidetracked trying to figure out what's going on with the tongues.

I always heard it as "She sells sea shells by the sea shore". I think the only way that you would be able to tell that it was Peter Piper and "Sally" immediately would be by giving them name tags. Why would they be wearing name tags? But I can see where your coming from. I was hoping people would notice the tongues twisted around one another first, and then look a little closer at the other elements and kind of put 2 and 2 together. It's definitely not a concept that you can grasp upon first glance, but personally, I kind of like when people ask me to stop so they can look at my shirt. |
