About the design

Submitted by eskimokiss on April 26, 2004

Just an old design I've reworked for threadless. I started to hate it once I was vectorising it, but had to submit on the count of it took me so long to do. I personally like the cream shirt with the green and black design.

adamjohnson

i really like this shirt alot, maybe if the box was alittle smaller. i would definitely buy

superjessica

super hot idea <3
i like the last two colors best also

ob1shinobi

i dig. if the box was smaller i couldn't read the text! it is PERFECT! kudos...

rise123

thats a rocking design idea. l00ks great. ;)

icmedia

i like the illustration a whole lot, but i'm just caught on the fact that it's a t-shirt advertising threadless and yourself at the same time.

hsi

yeah smaller.

Wabash

looks very cool, but i dont want to be a billboard for threadless, howevermuch i like this site. Other than that very nice!

Clothes_Horse

Maybe make it smaller and slide in a faint shadow...
Not sure.

the rooster

i like it with the dark gray...but the box needs to be a bit smaller maybe

orkibal

begitu indah...you got lima from me man....

spray

orkibal and spray: um... thanks... I think.
A lot of you are saying to reduce the size of the design. I made it that large so that the text would be legible on this site, if it gets printed we may have to reduce the size. That's another reason why I like the cream shirt with the green design, the box actually blends into the shirt and looks less obtrusive.

daheroes

nice idea.

vwoop

the cream shirt is the only one that really works. the other ones... its like the box-thing is really popping out at you, and just looks way too awkward.
i dunno how threadless is on sucking up and self promos... but i rated it ok

Atlantis

I like the cream shirt with the green and black the best, but something about the corner sticking out brings up subconscious images of being poked in the eye.

petit

i'd go for the natural one with the green band

jeeves

best threadless ad shirt I've seen on the site

IanPatrick

this is beautifully done, i love it

With regards to this being a suck-up to threadless and an attempt at a self promo, I assure you it wasn't intentional. I just couldn't think of anything more original to label the medicine packet. Nothing else seemed fitting if you know what I mean. I also do agree with the commonly held view that it is rather large and does look pointy and obtrusive, that is why I think the cream shirt looks best. Also, for anyone interested, here's the original design (postcard design) I submitted to the online arts festival all those years ago (circa 2000 I think)
http://www.geocities.com/dondi94/medicated.html
The brief here was to include and promote the site noise.net.au. Suppose I carried it along when redesigning this, only promoting threadless instead.

On second thoughts, I think it looks better as a postcard. Also when comparing the 2 designs it's easy to see what a shocking redesign I've done. The noise.net.au box is more compact and a more clean design. Ah well.

I really like the concept - medicine is good for you. I don't even have too much problem with threadless.com on it. However, the small text has to change. "This tshirt may cause wearer to experience short episodes of sudden "coolness""?

1. Way too self-referential.
2. be more sparse with adjectives.
3. Find better text for this. It's your solemn duty because the design is so good.

Also, yeah, make it smaller.

jaedho

Love the concept and the design. The only hang up that I have with it is the text stating "become attractive to the opposite sex." It would be great if it were inclusive of everyone, in my opinion, but perhaps that is not what you are going for. Something to think about.

I've viewed ALL of your submitted works .... WOW...really good work... I'm trying to lean vector graphiocs and cell work like that...
