Sad, but true.

2 color process. Looks good on blue jean or light blue.

hahaha, funny stuff man. I'd like a little more style to it all, mabe those other notes partying with a cleft note with drink or something, but music geekazoids will dig it!

Agree with the partying idea but I LOVE IT!

A whole note needs an equivalent number of notes in the next bar. (They really are called bars!) You only have 2 1/2 beats to the whole note's four.

^^musically very true, but I don't think fact effects the concept on this one. The point gets across simply and charmingly

I've also seen some wacky scores where the composer throws in whole notes to represent entire bars, regardless of actual time signature. It's unorthodox and, I find, rather stupid, but I've seen it

The first measure is occupied by only a weird note, it seems to be a full whole, or a quarter without the tail. There is no such note.

I really love the idea and wish it was made by someone who knew what they were doing.

Change it to this for it to be accurate for a 4/4 count: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v312/InvincibleAgent/musictwoquarterrests.jpg

Or you could make the rests just one half-rest, it looks like a hat. Or you could make the 4 eighth notes quarter notes (and ditch the rests), but they wouldn't be connected. Or you could say the whole thing is in 2/4 time (and ditch the rests, keeping the 4 eighth notes), but then the whole note would have to be a half-note, making it lighter again. It just has to change from what it is now, or everyone musically inclined will lose respect for whoever wears this shirt ;)

You guys are insane! Chill out. The time signature is 2/2!

Besides ^ that looks ugly. hahaha
InvincibleAgent
InvincibleAgent on Jan 16 '09
Oh, well then the lonely one is a half note, not a whole note, which is still "empty", the opposite color of the quarter notes, and has a tail.
InvincibleAgent
InvincibleAgent on Jan 17 '09
Whoops, that's for 2/4. For 2/2, the three eighth notes need to be quarter notes. Then it'll be fine.

wow. whoever made this sucks.

Aside from the weird full whole, of course ;)

^^ What? It's a brilliant idea. I want to make sure it is done justice.

I am a music person that was about to get technical. Love the idea and I love the simplicity. Not keen on the partying idea myself. Now make it accurate and I'll be all over this.

Unfortunately, some "musicians" are tied to old concepts of expression and musical notation. Kind of like medieval scholars--could you imagine what they would think about modern notation, and God forbid, John Cage? So, this is frickin awesome!

Um...even if it's not musically correct (seriously, people?) I think this is adorable. I wouldn't mind seeing the others suggestion with the partying notes, but I'd also wear this happily as is.

That's a little harsh. It's a cute t-shirt design, not a music text book. I love the simplicity of it, and think it's adorable.

its cute! if this gets made into a shirt, im getting one.

one thing i think might be cute, and add a little dash of color, would be little blushes on the happy faces, i think that would be cute.

but as is, the shirt is great!

If this was executed a little better (maybe more notes, put the sad one at the end, or some background action) it would be a 5$.
