About the design

Submitted by coltonredwine on January 10, 2009

This was just something I had come up with out of boredom, and someone suggested I submit it. So after a little modification, you see what I've got here. If you think something needs changed, comment. Tell me your thoughts!

I think this could go somewhere, but it isn't quite working yet. I'm a big fan of silhouetted trees and birds, (yes, I know it's been done,) and like how your design disintegrates at the edges. Putting it on a poo-brown background, however, distracts from its beauty and makes it look like a splotch. The retro bubbles, while they create an interesting design juxtaposition, only exacerbate the splotch problem. Finally, the printing may be a little big. I'd keep working on it :)

I can arrange preset brushes too!

@Victoria2393Ok, color suggestions? Should I remove some of the retro bubbles or just get rid of them all together? Thanks for commenting!

ginetteginette

sort of been done to death, floating islands with one tree and circles and shit as seen on the most popular wallpaper on deviantart.

my advice: avoid preset brushes at all cost. most brush sets have been used by thousands of people and we have all seen them before. it's not original nor unique nor interesting.

Is this looking too familiar? Should I just trash this idea?

againstbound

^Yes, stay away from preset brushes and vector packs. Pick up a pencil and start drawing something of your own and then you might go places.

I am sorry. I should have been more clear. You should mirror the design over a horizontal axis. and then do all the other things that we discussed. :) you are going to do great kid. because you're awesome.

MyDerniereDanse

Agree with trashing the idea and starting from scratch.

Claaire

would make a cool print though

FRICKINAWESOME

Well....

at least you put some bushes and plants on the underside of the ground which is kinda cool.

Kinda.

MeAndMyCreek

I would say, do NOT change anything about this design. It's fantastic.

The only criticism I'd offer is to make the design bigger on the shirt, perhaps even moved to the bottom right corner of the shirt (if you're looking at it, not wearing it), with a portion of the design wrapping around.

i think this is cool, but i dont like the bubble things.

absinthe-threads

i think the brown and orange circles are too monochrome considering the brown background. they just contrast so much i think they should POP more or something... maybe if they were a bit destroyed or weathered...
