The words are from the Moody Blues interlude "Midnight Lament". I thought it was very descriptive and short enough to create a design to go with it. I tried to vary my lettering styles (which you can view closer in the detail slide) and keep it simple. It basically deals with the romance (happy and sad) that encompasses what goes on at night.

It reads: Breathe deep...the gathering gloom. Watchlights fade from every room. Bedsetted people look back and lament: 'Another day's useless energy spent'. Empassioned lovers wrestle as one. Lonely man cries for love and has none. New mother picks up and settles her son. Senior Citizens wish they were young. Cold hearted orb that rules the night- removes the color from our sight. Red is gray and yellow white. But we decide which is right... and which is an illusion.

WOw! There's some great work going on here.

I just wish it was cleaned up a bit better.

Go watch a few more photoshop tutorials and you'll be putting out some amazing stuff.

Malcolm man- lol. thanks for the words of wisdom. I usually use Corel to do layouts. This time it was me learning the acceptable compressions to get it to fit under 250k in flash. Quite an experience!!! Just glazed over after awhile. thanks again.

I like the back waaaaaaaay more than the front. Front and center that bad boy!

i love the front...readability is important to this design in a manner that makes it better to be so hard to see, like night itself. however, the back ruins it for me. not only is it unreadable in a BAD way (if its a focal point to the message, it should be more sure of itself, instead of fading into its image) but the image created around it is too extraneous from the front image. it doesnt connect, doesnt finish the shirt--just leaves it lacking.
get rid of that disconcerting back piece for a 5!!!

Midnight Lament

FROM SALT A WORD OF
THOUGHT, A BREATH NOT
OCEAN,NOT AIR. A FEEL WITH
HEART, A TOUCH OF MIND, A
PROFOUND DIMENTION OF
ECSTACY. IN AND OUT OF LONG
HALLS THAT ECHO , ONLY ONE
YET Weighed IN BY A LIBERTY
YIELDED A PROMISE OF BONES
AND DUST GROWS VELVET
BLOOM THORNED. THE WELPS
OF LIGHTNING HEAD TO FOOT
FORGED A GLOW IN MY HEAD. A
STEAMING AMAZON CRESTING
AN OCEAN OF BLISS, THIS WORD
PASSES LIPS WITH EASE OF
BREATH.
