I really like the joke. But you wouldn't have a clue about it when just looking at the design.
It's a really nice piratey design. But it doesn't have much more going for it besides that.

id experiment with making it red and yellow or putting U.S.S.ARR! on it because it makes it considerably funnier

You could add some kind of papyrus banner with the slogan on it. Winding around the sword'n hook...

Dude that's intense... and just for that I offer you some knowledge I got from my captain. He said " Yar!, poisonous darts you say!? Ninjas cannot poison us pirates! Our blood is thick with grog's and spirits from around the world! Why, I've been drinking poisonous alcoholic drinks since I was a wee baby!.. ". Essentially what he was saying was that pirates are not effected to most of the Ninjas poisons because pirates drink enough alcohol to make us immune to them. If push comes to shove, no one ever said a pirate can't be a samurai pirate.

Love the design and like people before me, I'd love to see the U.S.S. A.R.R.R underneath it - it would be awesome! I'd definatly wear it!

it might also help some people get the joke if it were printed on a red shirt. i know black and white is, like, pirate chic and all, but you gotta meet people where they're at.

Yeah, this is one case where text should be added. It would be freaking hilarious if it has "U.S.S.A.R.R.R" somewhere on the shirt.

simple & sweet, but I wish either the sword 'cut' the hook on both ends, or it wasn't divided at all. if that makes sense.
