I only used the outline of Australia they did not have other islands that would represent Alaska and Hawiaii, and yes florida is messed up, but so is Texas, and oh yea every other state because it is not the U.S.

i actually think it was super clever, caught me off guard when i was looking at it. i would be interested to see it become a tee because i want to see what happens when someone wheres it, if anyone notices.

Satir thanks for you comments, On this specific shirt I wanted it to be more of an Andy Kaufman joke where the joke is on the viewer and the wearer gets the laugh. If the reader is smart enough to see the big picture, then awesome they also get the joke, but if they are not, then they are the joke. I know that not everyone likes this type of humor, but its ok, Kaufman had very mixed reviews too.

It's a good thought. Though if I wore this, like stated previously, I think no one would get it. And I already get enough time explaining my Shrödinger's Cat shirt to people. ;)

i dunno. for an i love geography shirt it seems a bit too not technical enough. i get it's supposed to be a heart, but as soon as i saw that the great lakes were surrounded by american states i thought you were trying to be sarcastic... |

Really like it, but I think it would work even better with just the map. Mind you, I am from Australia.

yes, i agree with everyone above, if your main point is what you described, than i would take out the similarity to the I love NY shirt. i would stick to one theme, and your map confusion theme is stronger and more original. you see jokes off the i love ny shirt all the time; however, your map idea is quite unique and deserves to be the focus of the shirt. this is amazing though

I don't think this is obvious enough to work as a shirt. If it weren't for the description, I wouldn't have understood it at all since I've never heard of that statistic, and I bet most people haven't (so the average person glimpsing this on the street wouldn't get it either). Also, being Canadian, if I'm going to wear anything with a reference to a country on it, I want it to be my own. I think you're appealing to a narrow audience dude.

Um, so I live in NH now? Not only is Ontario cut out, but your forgot 2 of your states. I assume you were trying to make a heart but could they have not been included as white with a black outline?

Thank you all for your criticism, Some get it and like it, some get it and don't like all of which I respect. Others prove the point that I am trying to make with it, and some people are cute having only been a member of the site for 3 days acting as they know what does and does not work after only judging 200 shirts. I do appreciate all feedback good and bad it helps the process and the community.

About my design
As a teacher that makes me sad but as a human that makes me laugh at those stupid people.
The point of the shirt is to confuse the looker into trying to figure out what is wrong..... and there is a lot that is wrong. from the shape to the order of the states to the entire cluster F that is the north east.
It may not be everyone's cup of tea but it makes me laugh.
