i like this idea.

i'm not too sure about the design inside of a large box.

maybe some of the elements could extend outside the boundary that exists now.

thanks for all the feedback...i know the whole image is kinda small i'm new at this so my sizing of the art will hopefully improve. i'm not shure what the colors look like on different monitors but the bottom color is a process red not a pink. i was thinking about pushing some of the elements outside of the square thats one of those things that if it's not done right it looks terrible and mine looked terrible.

Yeah, I agree with the too-boxy thing. No point in printing a fancy-like shirt if your design wouldn't suffer being sent to Cafepress. Maybe if you extended the bars of the grill beyond the rest of the picture...It would shift the focus to something very self-conscious of its own definition, but that would be cool in its own way. Overall, minus the qualms with boxiness, the picture evokes a very definite emotion. Good job.

boxed designs are for magazines, labels on softdrink bottles and thats about all.
