I think the illustration is off the hook,concept is funny. However, because its a motel and not a house I think it needs some sort of entrance or small extension from the house which would be the front desk or check in area 5 anyway

Convention, all Mr. Shining wanted to do was find a nice hotel to
haunt the hell out of and get some much-needed shut-eye. After
searching for several hours, he realized to his horror that every room
was taken and every human was being terrorized by a poltergeist having
the time of its life! That'll teach Mr. Shining to come to a faraway
town without a room reserved that has a human occupant ready for the
scaring of a lifetime.
