i think it needs a little bit work

trying to replicate the great wave without it even being in the context of a japanese parody is so ridiculous. christ. learn to draw on your own and stop trying to imitate/steal/copy other people's stuff. it's not good and it's not getting printed.

I agree with ginetteginette, you blatantly ripped off the The Great Wave off Kanagawa, took it out of context, and added nothing of parody or interest that would offset that. I also question the way the design was rendered, I think it lacks a lot of necessary detail to say the least. I think had this gone through critique, I should hope someone would've advised you against subbing this.

GG and Erin : Frankly, I have no ambition to be a winner at all or eager one of my design getting printed. If it happens, maybe it is my luck and thank to God cause of it. Therefore, it does not matter if my design could not survive in 24 hours or having low score or you give me bad comment/0 score for my design, it is your right...I am flattered of it...I except it in the positive way....

The most important is, I learn from all incidences that did happen to me....and I still have spirit to keep on submitting...

ginetteginette, retroludo, your comments do not help anybody, try criticizing constructively. If you just want to make 'waves' , you're wasting your time because no one is interested. Give this guy a break, I'm so sick and tired to see this kind of comments. He's not the first to use this icon in his art. The great wave has been used countless times and it has been always seen as a tribute to Hokusai. And if you think he could use some more drawing exercise, try encouraging him.



Adek, when you will win, it will not be luck, so don't bet very hard on it :) It will be you with your upgraded skill. The best thing is that you're looking to learn from every setback, yet I wonder what can you juice from a those cold comments.

i don't consider being realistic as mean as encouraging designs you all know won't get printed. denial denial denial.

you people are so afraid of offending others. critiquing designs doesn't mean you dislike or are critiquing who the designer is. so many people on here are so unreceptive to anything critical it is UNREAL.

Being critical is fine e.g....CONSTRUCTIVE criticism......is meant to help the person with their Idea, not put them down.

If I were to say ......"Ginette, your Ideas are CRAP,(which is basically what you say to everyone) ! then that wouldn't help you at all now would it" But If I said "Ginette, maybe you could draw something other than a cat, as they obviously don't get printed" Now THAT would help!!!!!
