This sub is inspired by one of the Mexican Revolution's most famous songs, "La Adelita."
La Adelita became the archetype of a female fighter during the Revolution. An Adelita was a woman soldier who not only cooked good enchiladas and tended to the wounded, but also fought in battles. In time the word adelita was used to describe all the soldaderas who became a vital force in the revolutionary war efforts, and the term now signifies a woman of courage and/or strength.
Viva la revolucion! y las enchiladas!
