Inspired by those old world maps, with seacreatures and seamonsters drawn onto them. Here, they become real.
Tried to get a nice distinction between the 'real' world, and the monsters, by using kinda old looking soft of sepia tones for the boat and the map, and using brighter colours for the rest.
