Absolutely love the ticket stubs!!!! Always wanted to know what to do with my collection. I think I'll wear them. Definitely would wear this and print it for my wall!!!

FRICKINAWESOME on Oct 17 '08 I actually like the idea of a guitar made up of tickets more than a plane, but yeah, it's obviously not gonna get printed here so at best you should have just packed this up and submitted it to one of the zillion other shirt sites on the web that copy off of threadless styles every day of the week. and you didn't even give us a close-up of all the "hard work" you might have put into the fake tickets? Lame on all accounts, although i'm not gonna give you a zero but a 1 since this isn't a direct copy off olly's piece, just something you should know better especially after you were warned about it. i think that this design is really cool. i would buy this one over the plane (ticket to ride or whatever it's called). they're def similar. big deal, you got some inspiration from a piece of art that caught your eye. clearly you deserve to be crucified.

2. That said, I also think it is unfair to call this person a thief. She made a design using ticket stubs. Sure it is similar, but it isn't an airplane. Ticketstubs are a medium. Anyone can draw anything they want with them. Also, I'm not sure if this has been resolved, but people have similar concepts all the time, so maybe she didn't see "ticket to ride" first. But, once she did find out about it, it probably would have been a good idea to move on. |

the creator of a shirt just apologized for ever submitting this shirt because of a few assholes that dont seem to like any of the shirts they comment on (my assumption based the little bit of browsing i've done)
I agree with nomad slim...the stubs are a medium. i think ill submit a shirt with stubs from various football games in the shape of ...get this...a football just to see if all you same crazies waste your time with hateful words...because unlike brookeboard, they wont be hard to swallow...id just read them while laughing my ass off about how CRAZY you're getting about art...and that an artist got inspiration from a different piece of art and made a completely different piece of art. and ps. brookeboard, i dont think you should be apologizing to olly. If i had submissions on this site, and someone was inspired by a piece of mine, and submitted something as well put together as you've done with your piece, i'd be flattered. |

no, i dont think that my way is the only way... or that my reaction is that same reaction everyone else should have. i was saying that just because of other member's reactions...she shouldnt regret submitting something nor should she feel obligated to apologize. that's my opinion....i have one of my own as well...just like you...and everyone else on here.
and yes, to me...it is okay. that is my reaction. that is my opinion. you may disagree, but i really dont care what you think...which is probably a mutual thing...and that's okay...it's great im implying that IF brooke saw olly's sub first, and took inspiration from it, i think he could take that as a compliment. but others think that he could/should rather take it as brookeboard is a thief. and im not planning on submitting anything anytime soon so "browsing" is all that's left for me. and from what i've noticed...the community really thrives on tearing each other down. well not all of them. but a few in particular. anyways, like i said. i like the design and i would choose it over the plane version any day. brookeboard, you should put out some other designs. based on this one, i really think you could have some sweet designs up your sleeve. |

sonmi on Oct 17 '08 jennifer, the problem with getting "inspiration" from an idea, as you call it, is that you're taking for granted that the original artist came up with the idea first. it didn't exist beforehand. some way or another olly found real inspiration for this design, and construed, on his own, the best way to execute it. that takes time to do.
brooke has said numerous times that she came up with the idea on her own, and i can't really do anything else but take her word for it. so the fact that you keep saying she DID steal olly's idea (and yes - it can be called stealing, because it's the same idea. it's just applied to another subject.), seems insulting to her. this is nothing against brooke now. it's against the idea that artists should be flattered if their intellectual property's been stolen. |

Taken out of context this is a cool design and really well executed. But everything has a context and this is just way too similar to "Ticket To Ride" which I bought. It's a shame you put all this work into it only to get this kind of reaction. But seriously, you should have known better, especially after being warned! Anyway, you've apologized and seem like a reasonable person, so I think that's that. Hopefully you will just take this as a learning experience and keep subbing. If I were in your position I wouldn't even check back on this anymore and wouldn't respond to the comments. Just look towards your next design. |

Also, to use elements of someone's concept and do it in your own style is one thing, and to ape someone's style and apply it to your own concept is another. Both are frowned upon but sometimes accepted if enough originality is present. But she used the exact same concept as well as the same style! I don't think simply changing the shape of the design is enough. That's why it crossed the line. |

I was just re-hashing what's already been said which must be really tiresome at this point. What's funny is that I actually dig this design and under different circumstances would have given it a 5$.
Anyway, we all have slips in judgement. I was put through the wringer over a past sub actually, if it makes you feel any better - Union Bunny I was quite defensive about it at the time but realized my critics might have had a point. It was a very unpleasant experience and you had it about 100 times worse so I feel badly for you. But look on the bright side. If you sub another design it will already have some built-in interest and people will be watching it closely. Normally it's quite difficult to get noticed on this site, so use that interest to your advantage and turn things around by creating a design that blows everyone away. |

This is a collection of ticket stubs completely redone to yield ANY copyrighted material shaping an electric guitar. Instead of using company, concert, venue or any real band names, parody names are substituted. i.e. "ticketblaster" instead of "ticketmaster," "marz voltage" instead of "mars volta," "ticketjon" instead of "ticketron" and so on.
It uses no special printing methods. It measures approx. 6" x 18" and is slightly wrapped around the side of the tee. It uses all 8 colors.
