I think this competition was probably wrapped up before I even put pen to paper. There have been some great submissions so far. If you haven't seen the rest I recommend checking them out immediately. But me, I'm a glutton for punishment and I guess one more design couldn't hurt.

This shirt is based on my favorite historical myth from childhood. I started out imagining famous travel or exploration events from history to serve as inspiration, but I kept coming back to this image. I know that Iceland and Greenland weren't intentionally named as misleading descriptors to throw off viking invaders, but I wish I still believed they were. Myths are often more interesting than the truth.

The design is only 3 inks (the green is a half-tone of the yellow over blue) and a white puff-ink (for the fuzzy boots and horns) on a natural shirt.

I've always thought the mis-naming of the "lands" was a really hilarious story that few seemed to spin, and you have done so in the freshest and glorious way possible! I love love love the story told here and how you have linked the images together and balanced the two worlds in front of the clearly perplexed vikings. A sweet boatload of colors leads this to clearly marking "x" or "5$" on the printing press spot.
