you can start things from scratch and still be copying someone else's work. it is extremely similar. even with that aside though this isn't a very strong design/concept.

I have not copied this dino from anywhere. That other dino looks familiar; I may have seen it a good while ago on someone's blog, which may be why I always picture stegosauruses that way; rounded and greeny blue with little beaks. Hehe, I've actually given my dino the wrong kind of toes, but never mind c:

If I did have that picture in mind as a subconscious memory, I still definitely did not use any reference image for this.

Ohh and I just saw a mean comment saying "it's sort of just cute for the sake of cute and too much of that can make me sick." Constructive critisism, please! c: Simple criticism is pointless and you could have kept that comment to yourself. c: It does say 'remember, be nice!' next to the comment box!

I like to give designers the benefit of the doubt, but it's just too close in style to the other design mentioned, intentional or not.

While this is Astoundingly adorable, it is FAR to similar to the other design posted. Like...if this were big legal stuff you would be sued for plagiarism and kaytayx3 (http://www.threadless.com/submission/157387/dino_lovess) would win hands down.

The comments about the text are accurate too. Perhaps an actual prehistoric looking hand lettering would help...and the placement needs work.

When you do a design, you need to do your research beforehand. If you had seen the other one and did a search for dinos, you would probably find it again, and know not to make them so similar. Feet and style asside, the proportions are identical.

People may have been harsh but artwork is very serious and personal and plagiarism, intentional or not, can be very hurtful to the other artist.

Inspiration is vital, but when money is being made a mistake like this is unacceptable.

ehr, I use this font (action jackson) on my computer all the time. I would suggest making your own next time
