It must have been a long trip for this Ice bear. Ice bears walk around 9.320 miles per year. Which means that it must have walked more than a year to reach the South Pole.

cool idea but bad execution it is awkward, the eyes are weird and the shadows maybe cut out the background images with the white outline of the bear

wouldn't the nails on the bear's feet be showing? Fun illusion tho.

Understand it but it's not quite working for me - too confusing. I think part of it is the background.

Plus I think it would help if the penguin's head was looking down to whee the bear's would be.

Great idea, but the shadow seems too tall for the polar bear, since the eyes and nose are so low to the ground.

thanks for the comments :)

@MooCowMoo, the polar bear doesn't stand on the same line as the penguin ;)

nice idea, but the design miss some details to be funnier at the first sight.

the cow is right, that shadow is too tall compared to the penguin's shadow.
ginetteginette
   ginetteginette on Oct 06 '08
that and there's no cut off mark to show where the shadow touches the polar bear's feet. it's as if the polar bear is FLOATING and that's his shadow, which makes even less sense.

good idea/bad execution. you should put this in the critiques section and really work on it.

You guys are right.. is it still possible to re-submit a design after changing a few things? Does anyone know about that?
ginetteginette
   ginetteginette on Oct 06 '08
it's sort of looked down upon but people have before. i would suggest putting it in critiques first though because you still have a lot of time to work on it before the deadline.

Pretty cool, but not immediately recognizable, you'd have to get right up close to it to get it.

why is the polar bear see-through and/or the same height as the penguin?

Really like the idea..

another comment about the shadows: if the sun is that low, the shadow would almost be endless unless there is a big pile of snow in front that makes it shorter, but 'we' (the eye) should be behind that. So if you shorten the shadow, at least raise the sun (a lot) as well.
