yeah, i was going back and forth between copying and pasting or doing all originals, but it occurred to me that when you see a t-shirt, the impact should be sudden and fairly easy to deduce and i thought that all original beets would clutter it up. it's already busy as it is. thanks for the feedback.

he wasn't shooting you down, he was being quite nice with his criticism of this piece and i agree with him. it's sort of so bad it's amusing which should explain my previous comment.
but it's a pretty ridiculous pun, and your use of copy-paste really cheapens the whole thing (why have so many in the first place? if you don't want to create them all individually maybe you should have stuck to just 4 unique beets). the fonts also don't do much for this and you would have been better off creating original text by hand.

yeah, it was definitely a hard choice to make, i appreciate detailed feedback. it just seems like some people (not you) don't like anything on here. thanks for your words of wisdom. i'm new at the unwritten rules of design so i'm learning as i go. thank you.

question: if i did this all over again using the same concept but completely different design, will they let me re-submit the idea? any comments?

they would let you resubmit it, but to be safe, if i were you i would put it into the critique section and post a blog about it to get some feedback going in your direction before you submit it officially.
