The symbol idea is nice but not so much the execution and political message.

hehe KBShakedown. I didn't even think that threadless would approve this seriuosly. I wanted to test them a bit. I'm surprised. I know it's not gonna get printed for sure. I just wanted to share my idea.

Actually, to give more detail on the process, this is donne in flash with action script.

What I do is I import a png. White parts are transparent. I tell flash to scan through every 20 pixel horizontally and vertically. Whenever it finds an opaque pixel, it replaces it with a random symbol in the lybrary. As it gets more to the right, it scales up the symbols more and more giving the drawing an impression of chaos.

With this script, I can import any png and create the same kind of artwork in an instant.

That's it.

Not a bad idea but

We'll see enough of Barak when he's our commander and chief *please please please!*, but I don't think Threadless is gonna go for such an "of-its-time" shirt, especially since it wouldn't even come up for sale until well after the election. I like the idea here tho and it looks quite striking...maybe sell it on a cafepress basis and bump up the image to a much larger size on the front.

Well, I like the idea of a collage creating a portrait, but I'm just not a fan of the things that make up that portrait... everything? Even scissors and buses and everything that looks like it's from the dingbat font? I think if you did a little discriminating when choosing the symbols it would seem more clever and less random.

Just a thought.
