It is my recurring nightmare- a picnic suddenly overrun by giant black ants! All you can do is run around in circles and scream like a little girl- even if you are a little girl!

I created this design by drawing a single ant in pieces, then scanning and vectorizing each segment. From that I could make identical ants, turn them black, and move their legs, abdomen, head, antennae, and pincers independently. I think ants are really like that- automatons.



The design is meant to wrap around the shirt, and could be printed to the edge or up from the seam at the bottom. The ants can also be made into red ants, but I think black are more dramatic. I think the design works on any light color shirt- silver or white, certainly.

Well, it was a good try!

It's funny, when I thought of the ants, giant ants, crawling up from the pants, I immediately thought to myself, that is exactly a threadless kind of shirt if I've ever seen a threadless shirt, this is it. maybe it is and I didn't execute it well enough, but maybe it was too disturbing for some of the people. I guess there's no way to know.
