Imagine if the this two classics collide?
Awesome colors -- like it on the brownish, red!
This is awesome!
this is wonderful
Nice idea - novel mash-ups. 5$
oh!! you should do a series!
great idea and drawing! I think the black wavy lines in the background could be either lightened up or taken out though, as they're a bit too heavy for me currently, but as I said nice job nonetheless!
It's Moby Dick and.....?
I like the blue the most.
this is awesome! $5!!
The Old Man and the Sea.
I hate Hemingway but I love this shirt.
Hemingway can't write but you can draw!!!
(Also, Melville = automatic win.)
$$$ FIVE DOLLAH
soo cool! +5 vote on my tee too!! please =D
this is great :D
Anyone who thinks Hemingway can't write and Melville can is an idiot.
This is a GREAT idea. I smell a print, but as Olie said, do lighten up the ripples on the background before sending Threadless the final files, fella.
I think most people would just assume the old man was Ahab. And wasn't the fisherman from Old Man and the Sea Black? At least he was on the cover of my paperback.
wow!! this is amazing!
Really good concept! Great execution!
Where have you been all my life? This is so brilliant I fear I'll have to wear sunglasses from now on.
I need this, handsdown.
Could you please go suffocate in 5$'s?
Could you do one where Dostoyevsky meets Wilde?
arg, I tried to put Hemingway is greater than Melville but it though I was trying to format something in html.
Hemingway (is greater than) Melville.
i'd actually like this better if it were on the pinkish shirt.
I don't even think a fifteen year old can understand Melville.
thanks friends for your feedback!
I really enjoy your critics and ideas. :)
"Hemingway can't write?"
He's the greatest American author. Go back to school, kid.
i actually like the brown shirt best, it's pretty neat.
I love everything about this design!
Spoiler alert: the old guy's book is actually the Bible or something.
Love it! 5$
Well designed :)
Amazing styles and really funny idea here...the background looks sharp as well.
ACE ! this is such a great concept. I dont enjoy hemmingway much generally but i loved the old man and the sea. 5 from me
though the placement is a tad too high, and I'd agree about lightening the black background lines if you decide to keep it on the lighter-colored shirt, where it looks fantastic. But it looks pretty damn good on blue too.
I thought you might be interested to know I mentioned this entry in my latest blog. Great shirt... hope it ends up scoring well
I love it.
Crap, how did I miss this? Truly awesome, hope this prints.
"Greatest American author"?
He wrote the exact same damn depressing ass book over and over again.
His characters were more wooden than petrefied oaks. His protaganists were nearly all either versions of himself or mouthpieces for his own ideas and pronouncements.
He was a depressed alcoholic who mostly wrote only about being depressed and drinking a lot. He couldn't write with eloquence or excitement to save his life; and somehow he convinced others that this was a virtue instead of a weakness.
Ugh. If you're going to have an opinion about literature other than "I like this" (which is perfectly wonderful), you might at least want to know something about how it works.
