callheraction, I'm sorry but I don't get anything at all of what you wrote. What about mao? What shirt still blows?

Please let me know at least whether you like it or no.

Not many people have ever heard of, or would recognize that system of symbols

cesc on Feb 16 '04
radical edward, as you may seeif you check my other tees out is that I'm not designing expecting to poll well. :-)

I don't have a problem with this one at all. Though if you wore it, people might ask you about it, so yeah - you'd probably have to know about the I Ching. Which not many people do in the West. But other than that I don't really see the problem.

...and I call "foul play" on callheraction's comment which is not constructive or respectful, and indeed is offensive and downright racist.

it took me a while to recognize it...but i think its an interesting idea...

i would like it better if in small text on the front it said inner truth

and on the back it had the i ching representation

in its current form...i dunno

why this symbol? how does it relate to the shirt? are you taoist?

isn't this someone else's (ie a chinese philosopher / religious person's) work anyway?

if i gather inner truth to be a subtle idea... then...

i hope this shirt design isn't about the exoticism of another culture as used to win a t-shirt contest

knivesout,

as I said in the first commentary of this tee, Inner Truth is the 61th hexagram of the I Ching, Book of Changes.

"why this symbol?": because I like it and has a great name.

"how does it relate to the shirt?": though the whole cosmos.

"are you taoist?": kinda.

"isn't this someone else's work anyway?": yes, but nobody specific. It's like our "A", or any other letter (that hexagram isn't a letter nor a woed at all though).

"i hope this shirt design isn't about the exoticism of another culture as used to win a t-shirt contest": I already wrote: "as you may see if you check my other tees out is that I'm not designing expecting to poll well. :-) ".

Those who know and use the I Ching will understand this tee.

i'm not telling you that your design sucks

i was just asking how as a graphic design, you put down a graphic to get any message across

when i saw your picture, i didn't really know what it was about

imagine someone else seeing this shirt, are your ideas / beliefs extended to them?

in this case i just felt that its more of putting a logo down as you said "because I like it and has a great name"

well i understand your sentiments and don't mean to wish you harm or anything

just feel that in the usage of a pretty cultural graphic, it belongs to a culture

this needs to have meaning for it to work you still haven't told me how this works as a piece of clothing expounding the virtues of inner truth in the i ching

i wouldn't put the text.

=)

my thoughts exactly, bizkit, I love the idea but the text is too much.

(but then again, i recognized it as an i-ching symbol without it)

haha, do you always depict the things people say?

not the worst shirt design i've ever seen,

I'm off to learn about I ching thing
cesc
cesc on Feb 19 '04
Yeah, I depict all these things. Actually I love more writing than designing.

And the I ching thing is a great thing (if you remain kinda skeptikal in the inside).

I hope you'll enjoy it.
