About my design

by Jason Welcome
Simple Clean Design illustrating the horror's of war, and the fact that nobody really wins. Even if you don't die, the person you were before the war, is gone forever.

Also I just wanted to note that there is NO text on the actual t-shirt this is just the title. Enjoy

The x with the circle in it looks kind of weird. It may look better as a scope mark, like a thinner + that extends through a thinner circle. The silhouette is a little undefined. I don't think your message is truly reflected by the artwork.

I like this! The contrast between the black and white works really well with the subject matter. Good job!!

...unless you save a bunch of your buddies, or carry a wounded person out of the line of fire to a medic, or were one of the Dam Busters, or that guy Steve McQueen played in The Great Escape... or simply protected someone who needed protecting.

Just because there is a war currently going on that you dont agree with, dont hate on all soldiers. They do a damn dangerous job which you or I could not do.

I wish I had a semi-automatic weapon for legs. Nobody would give me shit. You have decent skills, just do research on the styles that Threadless prints. And next sub, try to steer clear of silhouettes and other aged design cliches. 2

Oh my god, please do not miss understand me. This was a piece inspired by Band of Brothers, and Saving Private Ryan. I was talking about the sacrifice that these people made for our freedom and how even if they don’t die, they are never really the same because of the horrors that are endured.

mezo - both the Browning Automatic Rifle and the AK-47 are fully automatic. Therefore you would receive even less shit in your scenario.

Thanks for the Advice Mezo. I have to admit the I have been going through a long writters block, and have not been able to find any new inspiration, can you recommend any visual references of publications that would get the creative juices flowing?

Just a note, a war design that says it so directly as this one (soldier and gun) is already making it hard to get a good score, and then just using vector graphics will get you scored down on artistic appeal.

It's great that you have a meaningful message with your design, but maybe there is a more effective way to execute it to make it flow better with the threadless community.

:)

thanks for the input, i have unfortunately, I still have one more vecter based design already submitted, I would with draw it but I don't know how. That being said I have 2 original hand drawn illustration submissions on the way, so hopefully they go over better then my vector (kiss of death submissions).
