About the design
on August 20, 2008
When threadless announced the Drawing contest I knew I had to enter something, after all- drawing is my life and livelihood. So I tried to think of what drawing meant to me and how I could express my love for drawing to everyone else.
I slept on it and in one of those inspirational moments, I shot up awake in the morning with a clear picture in my head of what I was to do. I got straight to work drawing and drawing and drawing. It was me and the paper, just like when I was a kid.
Drawing represents my childhood. My dad taught me and encouraged me to draw from the time I could lift a pencil. From there I would fill page after page with monsters, aliens, animals and heroes. My imagination had no limits.
This design is my attempt to capture a piece of that passion and fun I had as a kid drawing. Each pencil held a world of life and creativity inside it, I just had to let it out. And that is why I love to draw.
