To me, democracy means everyone gets a vote, even if you may seem strange to someone else. Even the guy in the armadillo hat gets a vote. His button says proudly,"I voted," and the slogan on the back "Everyone gets one" ties the theme together.

This could work has a whole humorous series, with oddballs of every nationality on their own shirt. After all, democracy isn't just American! This T-shirt also looks great in a variety of other colors.
