not sure about the slogan, but the typography is brilliant!

This was a collab with my_right_hand, he came up with the slogan. I should've listened to my_left_ear. He had a much better version.

I would definitely say it's a typographic illustration and not just type setting. Besides, I don't think it would have been accepted if it wasn't considered an illo, so hang in there.

Anyway, I like the way the letter forms project/thrust forward as if exerting power, supporting and conveying the message. I think the contrast between the understated colors and the bold shapes is very intriguing and distinctive. It looks great on the shirt and would be very eye-catching as a poster or the label on a soda bottle as the democracy challenge requires.

I agree with quister about the illustration; it's not just Helvetica thrown on a shirt, so hang in there. :)
