ok. so i just wanted to submit this and see what the public has to say about it. not everyone has seen my humongous critique haha. but i want everyone to keep in mind if i can change this later on if you dont like this version. ive been patient with this design because i love it and it has come a long way.

i think the hand looks funny because it's the left hand holding it, right...? (i actually held out my hands to make sure i got it proper, haha)
i dunno, i feel like i'd wanna have it in the right hand, i don't know why but it doesn't seem to fit... sorry! am i making sense? it looks good though, i like it ^_^ |

I really love the concept of the landmarks all together like that - but not the hand. Is there another way to show them together/ small like that?

FRICKINAWESOME on Aug 09 '08 I agree it's a nice concept and the purple and monument renderings are very well done, but yeah, the hand's texture kinda creeps out. It seems possibly too wrinkled and old for the young feeling this gives me? And the direction of the hand in relation to the palm seems off. Needs a little more fine-tuning but very nice idea. I'd almost like to see it from three-quarters view, with a little boy or girl holding her hand up to the sky with all these pieces in their hand. Keep subbing, nice stuff!

I respectfully disagree that the concept is very simple. When I saw the design, I took it as God having the whole world in his hand. It took on a strong religious connotation, and I am agnostic. I like the idea of having the world at your fingertips better, but that's not how it came off to me. You need to empasize the fingertips, rather than the entire hand. Maybe the landmarks on a tray just resting on the tips of the fingers. You are the artist though. I'm sure you could think of something.

oh wow im sorry about the god's hand and monuments thing. i see it could be taken that way but i never visualized god as having a human hand.
im wary of defining the hand and fingers any further for fear or making the hand look old. :( im still working on this though. im sure i will figure something out. |

About my design
the concept is pretty easy to understand. the world is at your fingertips and in this submission it really is.
there are two color options. 1) purple on dark grey. 2) orange on army green.
