 This is a design based on Democracy to me. I know that there are people from other countries on here but since I am American this is democracy to me, and im sure people from different countries will have different ideas.

The blue field is supposed to be hung in the upper left corner of the flag, wheather it's hung horizontal or vertical. I give it a "1" because the error is a sign of disrespect to the flag.

The look is great, but the blue field is in the wrong place. I agree: it's supposed to be in the upper left, regardless of the direction in which the flag is hung. I also give it a 1 because of placement.

Yeah, I agree with robotwaste. I make it a point never to wear red white and blue; I couldn't imagine myself wearing a flag shirt; but I have to give this design a good score-- it's just that well designed.

I can't believe how many Americans choose their flag to represent democracy. They're so focussed on their own elections that they can't see the theme in the broader scope of society or the world. It's sad, really.
The technique is nice on this shirt. It's a shame it couldn't have been used on something other than the ol' red, white 'n blue. Sigh. |

great design, but a nice liberal community like this one is much more likely to reject the USA flag as a symbol of 'Merkin arrogance, than as a symbol of democracy. Still...beautiful design.
Make a Canadian version with a Beaver and our flag, and consider it sold... |

I think it is a very well done design, but it does seem to confine the idea of democracy to the US. I absolutely love the look of this though, all the textures and just the artsyness of it. |

The aesthetic is bloody amazing, unfortunately I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the red white and blue, and I don't think this is appropriate for the "democracy" contest at all. "this is democracy to me." what a fantastically american perspective.

This is an amazing design, but as a previous person said - the blue part is on the wrong side, so it's being displayed incorrectly. But that's easy to fix.
It's disappointing that this was submitted for the Democracy competition, because now everyone's judging it solely on that. And people are complaining that it's for a limited audience, but just so you all know, I'd buy a t-shirt with any flag if it were illustrated as beautifully as this. Except the Nazi, Chinese, or North Korea flags. $5 - for the image to be reversed horizontally |

Looking at some of the comments it's obvious that many people feel strongly about the imagery in this design. I've noticed similar sentiments on other designs as well. That being said, I would encourage the artist to better focus the intended meaning or message of the design so as to create a more energetic response from the viewer. This concept has the potential to really move people and that is what great art does (or should do).

I think all flag shirts are kind of cheesy and boring. The flag AND the Lady Liberty together seems a bit much to be honest. Also, not being the States I would never wear this.
The artwork is nice however. |

Why should we pick the american flag for the presentation of democraties^ many other countries are in democratie and many country prove ina better way the democratie thanthe USA........

I think everyone needs to relax. From the artist's comment, it seems apparent that they know the US isnt the only democracy. Just enjoy the artwork and stop being so hostile.
i do agree its not universal, but it IS still a very beautiful piece. Nice work. |

Anybody who maintains that America didn't spread as integral a role in spreading democracy as Greece did, is ignorant. That being said, cool design.
