hello!!!!! u know brother ur the worst designer i've ever seen....no thats not true any way to all of you, i agree with el morenito, design here is awful now, even mine (talking about the shirts) i own like 4 or 5 shirts from threadless, the printed ones are really good, threadless is a great place to buy them, but the competition..... is not like it used to be, right now u can see a lot of shirt designs in power point or even in excel i think, the quality is really poor, we all should do better things why waste 2 hours in an awful design, and have a bunch of crappy shirts, why dont better waste 4 or 6 hours or even a couple minutes if the idea is good enough to sell it, and have just 2 or 3 but respectful shirts!

...........................so i agree with this guy, design competition sucks right now.............

when you think of how many thousands of designs have already been trial and error'd, how does one come up with a new design without people noticing how it resembles another.

God, i'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed the decline in t-shirt designs. Over the past years, they seem to have gone down so badly; like the submission process is fully automated so you can submit any piece of shit and still have it presented as a possible T-shirt design. I dont even vote any more just because i'm sick of giving 0s and 1s. I dont want to make this some war against n00bs, but I've noticed the decline mainly since last october. There are a few shining artists here (cintrao, bosatsu, tyro3girl), but the vast majority sucks. It's not about being a "hater", it's about the truth. Threadless seems to be gradually going down the drain as far as content goes.

Someone needs to be in charge of qualitly control, i nominate ATS :)

it's not that there's more shit designs now.. its that there's more submissions on the whole.. i said it before but it's up to the voters to choose what gets printed.. its just a shame when you click through 40 designs and don't see a damn thing worth wearing.. or even worth commenting on :|



as a side note, there seem to be more trolls and nasty people making comments now too - so there you go.. with the increase in crap designs, comes the increase in opinionated pricks there to say "thats a crap design." :)

I do think threadless should adapt however.

I propose a league system based on good design. Basically it would work by threadless giving every contributor a number from 1 to 3 (1 being the best). The number denotes what divsion youre in. In this way all good designers would be placed on level 1 while bad and new designers would start at 3. Contributors could be promoted or demoted based on the success of there design. This i belive would improve 'quality control'. It would also mean you could view a number of good tees without the usual rubbish. People like ATS and me couldnt give our opinions or votes (as they are in a sence worthless) because we havent submitted any tees, it would also mean you couldnt get all your friends to vote (e.g. http://www.threadless.com/submission/17002.html).



On another point i didnt like the way el moreno pasted his pathetic link to this tee on lots of other peoples comments page, without making a comment about the tee.



On a positve note, the tee has provided a decent discussion worth contributing too.

It is a shame that the real crap ones get through... I think the main thing is people aren't spending enough time on their designs.. It's pretty quick and easy to get your design up on this site. It shouldn't be. There are too many "conversation starter" shirts that might be funny but will never get printed. Too many " shocking " shirts that no one will ever wear. And finally some nice artwork that really doesn't belong on a shirt. ( just doesn't suit the medium.. )



I believe if you take your time and make a good design people will appreciate it. ( because you're not wasting anyone's time)

So take your time- don't upload your design today - sit on it till tomorrow - maybe you can make it better!



Also it would be nice if there was alot of interest in your particular design - maybe you could do a print run on your own for pre- ordering people? There are some good designs out there that threadless hasn't printed..

agree with ATS that there shouldn't be a scoring system, because a new designer can easily submit something that is mind blowing. censorship is evil. and why do u need to submit something to comment? what does someone's prior submission(s) have to do with yours? if u don't like their prior work, why attack them? there are many good art directors that can't design as good as they can advise. some users aren't even designers, some are friends or mothers or sisters or gay lovers of designers.

I think it's a cool idea personally but shouldn't the spelling be correct? It's "submitted", with two 't's. While I'm there, it should be "designs suck" rather than "design sucks." Otherwise, it's a funny in-joke whether you agree with it or not.
